Linux LVM (LVM2) on-the-fly configuration parameters

I was searching on google for a way around to having to set the parameter

locking_type = 0

in lvm.conf in order to change a clustered VG to non-clustered without having clvmd installed, when I found this:

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=995193

saying that you can use the parameter --config of vgchange (and I guess of many other lvm sub-commands) as in this example:

vgchange -cn testvg --config 'global {locking_type = 0}'

WOW ! Where the heck is this option documented ?!?!

So I guess I can pass whatever lvm parameter on-the-fly without having to touch lvm.conf... this really comes in handy for dirty-operations scripts :-)
